She passed me like gentle breeze,
Aisle #23
Vegetables/Frozen food/ Dairy.
I beheld her temporal beauty,
Muzak crackling through torn speakers
Upheld what little warmth she gave me.
What tugged my heart was a
Whatsapp notification ding
On her phone, that is.
I turned back to it’s call
To cherish one last time
Her gleaming soft hair bouncing,
Thinking the call was
For me
On my phone
My pocket abuzz.
Mine, I didn’t care,
It was her’s.
The ding faded after
an eternity.
I picked up Caesar’s frozen pizza,
Large.
For the evening.
